Guitar
Born in Oeiras, he began learning the guitar at age 9 with Professor José Frade at the Oeiras Workers' Library. Between 1992 and 1998 he completed the 8th Grade of Guitar at the Nossa Senhora do Cabo Music School in the classes of Professors José Frade and João Pedro Duarte.
In 2003 she completed her Bachelor's degree in Guitar at the Lisbon Higher School of Music, having been part of the guitar class of Professor Piñero Nagy, and the Chamber Music class of Professor Olga Prats. She attended masterclasses with several renowned guitarists, such as David Russell, Eduardo Isaac, Alberto Ponce, Carlos Bonell, Joaquín Clerch, Abel Carlevaro, and António J. Gonçalves. In 2009 she completed the Professionalization in Service Course at the Open University. Over the years she has had several students who have won awards in national and international competitions, who have successfully gone on to higher education. She has supervised internships for Master's students in Teaching from national universities. Her concert activity focuses mainly on the area of Chamber Music. In 2005, he recorded the CD "Viena Portrait by Carulli" with António Jorge Gonçalves, featuring works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Carulli, performed on copies of period guitars ("Petit Jean," from the early 19th century).
Currently, she is part of the Duo GuitHarmony with harpist Beatrix Schmidt. She taught at the Santa Cecília Music Academy between 2005 and 2011. Since 1999 she has taught guitar at the Nossa Senhora do Cabo Music School and at the Colégio Moderno Music School since 2024.
Harpa
Beatrix Schmidt was born in Hungary and has lived in Portugal since 2007. After arriving, she graduated in Music, specializing in harp, under the tutelage of Professor Stéphanie Manzo. She completed a Master's degree in Music Education at the Lisbon Higher School of Music. She has given several recitals: a harp and flute recital at the Hungarian Embassy; a recital at the Joanina Library during the FESMUC Festival in Coimbra (harp duet); a harp and flute recital promoted by the Setúbal City Council; a harp, violin, and cello recital at the Convento Convida in Setúbal, and with the same group in Palmela at the Mural 18 Festival. She participated in the "Educational Music" project in kindergartens (harp; harp-saxophone; harp-violin).
He has collaborated with several orchestras: Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra; Metropolitan Academic Orchestra; Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra; Navy Band; Portuguese Symphony Orchestra; Northern Orchestra; Lisbon Film Orchestra. He performed as a harpist in the show "The Sound of Music" at the Politeama Theatre (Lisbon) and the Rivoli Theatre (Porto). Currently, he is a freelance musician, frequently working in small chamber music groups and participating in various events. He currently forms part of the Duo GuitHarmony with guitarist Ana Guerreiro.
She taught at the Coimbra Conservatory, the Alcobaça Music Academy, and the Montijo Regional Arts Conservatory. Since 2008, she has been a harp teacher at the Nossa Senhora do Cabo Music School and the Palmela Regional Conservatory.
